Principality of the Valleys of Andorra which is commonly known as Andorra is the sixth smallest country in the world when it comes to the area.

It is also the 11th smallest country by population. The state is located in the Iberian Peninsula with France to its north and Spain to its south.

They country is known for many tourist attractions, landmarks and its unique history. You would find various breath taking hiking trails and villages and town housed on the mountain peaks. Below are some places of interest that one must visit when staying in or moving past the state of Andorra.

National Automobile Museum

The national automobile museum of Andorra is situated in the town of Encamp that is a beautiful place to visit at any time of the year. The river dÕOrient runs through the city making it be a site worth seeing with the striking scenery and peaceful environment. The automobile museum displays several vintage cars, antique motorcycles and bicycle. The famous piece of the museum is a steam-driven machine dating from 1885.

Andorra la Vella

Andorra la Vella is the capital city of Andorra. The city has altitude of 1029 meters thus is one of the highest capitals in the world. Along with being the highest it is also the smallest capital city of the world as well. The streets of the city are run by small shops that sell everything that you require to fulfill your basic needs along with souvenirs and arts and craft pieces that display the local culture and history. The various tourist attractions in the city are Casa de la Vell that was build back in 1580, 16th century wall painting, Saint Esteve Church and the historic cupboard of seven keys that contains the cityÕs achieves.

The city of Vallnord in Andorra attracts thousands of skiers and snowboarders from across the globe towards itself. The town has three ski resorts that host the tourist and provide them with the finest slopes in all of Europe. The town also offer ski training schools and other fun activities such as snowshoeing, sledding and snowmobiling for families.

Saint Joan de Caselles church

You will find the chapel of Sant Joan de Caselles in the north of the little village called the Canillo. The building is dated back to the 11th century is one of the finest building in the town. You can admire the stone art work and architecture of the building along with the interior designs such as frescoes, retablo, St. John and the Apocalypse, dating from 1525. The church is one of the finest Romanesque chapels in the country that has a Romanesque stucco statue of Jesus on the Cross.

The town of Les Escaldes

The town is situated just a few minutes away from the city of Andorra la Vella. The name Les Escaldes is given due to the fact that the town is surrounded by many hot water springs that give away mesmerizing scenery and breathe taking view. The town has a Museum known as Viladomat that displays the work of Josep Viladomant who was a famous Catalan sculptor. The fortress of Capilla Sant Roma is also located within the town which is mostly ruined thus is an archeological site.
