Egypt is well known for its amazing historical buildings and artifacts. Just outside Luxor, on the banks of the River Nile stands the royal burial ground; the Valley of the Kings. With 63 different tombs of varying sizes, the Valley of the Kings was the final resting place to many of great Pharaohs that ruled over Egypt during ancient times. Buried along with their riches and treasures,  there has been a great many artifacts uncovered at the Valley of the Kings. The largest tomb has a total of 120 rooms in it, and was built for the sons of Rameses the second.

Why not enjoy Egypt at a more relaxing pace and take a cruise on the Nile between Aswad and Luxor. You will be able to see many of the ancient ruins that sit alongside the great river, but you will be able to do it in style.

Be sure and avoid doing a cruise of the Nile during the hottest months of the year which are June- August as it will be too uncomfortable for you to enjoy.

Visit The Pyramids At Giza

No trip to Egypt would be complete without seeing the Pyramids at Giza. These monuments that were built around 4000 years ago were possibly the world’s first unemployment scheme. While many people believed that slaves were used, it was in fact out of work farmers whose land had been flooded. A work of utter ingenuity, these constructions took over eighty years to put together. Each stone needed to be moved painstakingly. There must have been some great engineering going on even back then.

Of course, the most famous of the structures at giza is the Sphinx. Part human, part lion, this mythical figure dominates the landscape and really has to be seen in the flesh. Go with a great tour guide and find out what happened to the Sphinxes nose, you may be surprised.
