What are must-have items for female travelers?
Travel can be exhaustive and truly uncomfortable.
And when you are packing for a long trip – your packing experience can be painful.
Here are some top items for female travelers in 2019.
Let’s start with clothing.
1. Clothing
Of course, your clothing will depend on the climate where you are traveling.
Some clothing items you should consider (for a hot climate):
- Simple tank tops
- 2-3 t-shirts
- Several pairs of shorts
- Several pairs of light cotton pants
- Pair of hiking shoes
- 7-10 pairs of underwear you find comfortable (including Knix period panties)
For a cold climate you should consider:
- thermal shirts
- 3-4 sweaters
- thick socks
- heavy coat
- snowy boots
- gloves, scarfs, etc.
With travel clothing, you should NOT take too much. It’s not the best idea to travel with dirty laundry. Pack only the most essential clothing.
Travel toiletries
You will be able to find most of the required toiletries on the road.
- Shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, soap can be found in these places.
- Basic toiletry packing list might include:
- Hanging toiletry bag
- A small container of body wash
- Facial moisturizer
- Razors
- Sunscreen
- Makeup
- Travel first aid kit
- etc.
For prescribed items, it depends how long are you traveling and how much you can get upfront from a doctor.
Travel backpacks
It’s a good idea to travel with two backpacks – one with clothes, shoes, toiletries, etc.. Other, smaller, carry on backpack can be used for electronics, valuables – you may not prefer to check in into flights and don’t store in luggage compartments.
Check out also Hoverglide lightning backpack. It features a patented suspension system, which makes it super light.
Practical items
Obviously, it depends on which part of the world you are traveling to.
- Travel line – for drying your clothing. It can be a must have, if there is no laundry opportunities in places where you are traveling.
- Packing cubes – a very helpful item to pack your clothes effectively.
- Microfiber towel – a fast drying towel, in case the hotel or hostel won’t have one.
- Headlamp – a personal flashlight at night. Super useful for camping.
- International power converter, electric splitters, and chargers – can be essential.
- A compression bag – travel hack item for storing dirty laundry.
Stuff you don’t need
It is a common mistake for travelers to overpack and bring a lot of stuff, which they won’t use.
Some if might include:
- Mosquito nets – you need to check, but almost in every country, where there is an issue with mosquitoes, they have a mosquito net.
- Jeans – in fact, jeans are not the best choice for active traveling. Jeans are uncomfortable in hot and humid countries.
- Own bedding – instead of own bedding, just take sleeping bag liner.
- Suitcase with wheels – again, it can be a good choice for business travel, but not for active adventures. Suitcases with wheels are super unpractical in a lot of countries.
