Dinner Train in Amsterdam

The Dinner Train in Amsterdam is a fabulous sightseeing opportunity that everyone will enjoy.  The train follows the Green Heart Route and the journey takes approximately two and a half hours to complete.  Guests will learn quite a bit of fascinating information about all the sights that they see along the way, while also seeing picturesque views of the countryside.  It is all about nature along this route, and guests will mainly see agricultural and natural surroundings filled with mills, dikes, and herds of Dutch cows.

Each guest will have their picture taken at some point during this journey, normally in the beginning or at the end, so that they can remember this special occasion forever.

The chef on the train spends time specially preparing the four-course meal that is served to everyone on board.  The appetizers include choices of duck breast, salmon, and roasted Coeur de Boeuf.  They are followed by the second course, which is gazpacho.  The options for the main course are slow cooked beef, seabass, and homemade ravioli.  No one will want to forget about desert, which is a delectable lavender yoghurt ice cream.

Guests on board the Dinner Train can choose from special gift packages for an additional charge.  The Dinner Train Wine Gift Set includes a bottle of Amsterdam Dinner Train wine and two wine glasses that are engraved with the train’s logo.  The Wooden Shoe Gift Set is a traditional Dutch wooden shoe that is full of breakfast specialties.

Brunch Express

The Brunch Express is very similar to the Dinner Train; however, it is obviously held at a different time of the day.  This is the perfect adventure for those who want to try a different activity but still have a lot of fun.

This train ride still goes through the countryside, but it follows the North Holland Route.  This route goes past the Zaanse Schans, Uitgeest, and Haarlem, but the favorite part for guests is when the train travels over the first train track that was built in the Netherlands.

The entire journey only lasts an hour and a half, but the views are still breathtaking.  Guests will also have their picture taken during this train ride, as it should also be an adventure to remember for a lifetime.

There is no set menu for the Brunch Express, but the buffet is filled with meats, cheeses, yoghurt, and fresh bread that is baked daily.

Both of these trains begin at the Amsterdam Central Station and guests are welcomed with a Red Carpet event, which makes everyone feel like royalty.  The Brunch Express leaves the station at one in the afternoon and the Dinner Train is scheduled for seven in the evening.

There is also a Cheese and Beer or Wine Tour, which leaves at three and five in the afternoons.  This tour also follows the North Holland Route, taking an hour and a half.  After walking along the Red Carpet and having their picture taken in the locomotive, guests will be able to enjoy four different Dutch cheeses by Henri Willig.  Those who drink beer can enjoy a tasting of four different Heinekens, while wine lovers will be treated to four different types of wine.

The lines can be long for the Dinner Train and Brunch Express, and they normally sell out way in advance.  Everyone will want to secure their spot by purchasing their discounted tickets on Museuly.
